چکیده
This paper investigates the juvenility limit and structure–property relationship in secondary quality beech ( Fagus sylvatica L.) oak Quercus petraea (Matt.) Liebl.). The juvenile wood occupies a very small area near pith. stabilization of different parameters varies over time. Adding microfibril angle (MFA) grain to MOE prediction model significantly improves model, despite little variation both parameters. Using qualities logs hardwoods such as for engineered products is an increasingly important issue due technological challenges processing smaller denser woods. Secondary are expected have less mechanical properties compared softwoods with high content. first objective this study was investigate radial suppressed growth trees obtained from thinning operations. second develop predict these hardwood species based on their structural angle, ring density, width pith bark were determined using X-ray densitometer. modulus elasticity rupture evaluated clear specimen three-point bending test. also measured. results show that has wider higher whereas it latewood beech. For species, area, than 5 cm comparable reported literature dominant trees. best predicted angle. better density alone Juvenile found can be used place mature wood. It take into account when predicting species.

Age-related variation in carbon allocation at tree and stand scales in beech (Fagus sylvatica L.) and sessile oak (Quercus petraea (Matt.) Liebl.) using a chronosequence approach.
Two types of physiological mechanisms can contribute to growth decline with age: (i) the mechanisms leading to the reduction of carbon assimilation (input) and (ii) those leading to modification of the resource economy. Surprisingly, the processes relating to carbon allocation have been little investigated as compared to research on the processes governing carbon assimilation. The objective of ...
متن کاملRegeneration Patterns of European Oak Species (Quercus petraea (Matt.) Liebl., Quercus robur L.) in Dependence of Environment and Neighborhood
Quercus robur L. (pedunculate oak) and Quercus petraea (Matt.) Liebl. (sessile oak) are two European oak species of great economic and ecological importance. Even though both oaks have wide ecological amplitudes of suitable growing conditions, forests dominated by oaks often fail to regenerate naturally. The regeneration performance of both oak species is assumed to be subject to a variety of v...
متن کاملEffects of thinning on soil and tree water relations, transpiration and growth in an oak forest (Quercus petraea (Matt.) Liebl.).
To quantify the effects of crown thinning on the water balance and growth of the stand and to analyze the ecophysiological modifications induced by canopy opening on individual tree water relations, we conducted a thinning experiment in a 43-year-old Quercus petraea stand by removing trees from the upper canopy level. Soil water content, rainfall interception, sap flow, leaf water potential and...
متن کاملGenome scanning for interspecific differentiation between two closely related oak species [Quercus robur L. and Q. petraea (Matt.) Liebl.].
Interspecific differentiation values (G(ST)) between two closely related oak species (Quercus petraea and Q. robur) were compiled across different studies with the aim to explore the distribution of differentiation at the genome level. The study was based on a total set of 389 markers (isozymes, AFLPs, SCARs, microsatellites, and SNPs) for which allelic frequencies were estimated in pairs of po...
متن کاملStudies on European beech (Fagus sylvatica L
Colour parameters of European beech were measured using CIELab system. 103 logs from 87 trees in 9 sites were cut into boards to study the variations of wood colour parameters. Both site and tree effect on colour were observed. Patterns of red heartwood occurrence were defined. When excepting red heartwood there was still a highly significant effect of site and tree; differences remained after ...
